Oil Pressure Head (BOZA)
An Oil Pressure Head (BOZA) performs four functions on a deep boring machine when working according to the BTA-principle:
- It supplies the annulus space between the inner surface of the bore and the drill tube
- It seals the drill tube and the workpiece
- It acts as a reception for the boring bush and determines the starting point of the bore
- when sealing the workpiece by using a conus, it also centers the workpiece
